As a generation of Vancouver baby boomers reach their 50's, they often have parents that are advancing to an age where they may need help with everyday activities. One of the biggest obstacles can be the daily cooking and shopping or home meal replacement delivery. At Travelling Gourmet Personal Chef Services, we find about 30% of our business is comprised of seniors citizens or the children of seniors who are worried that their parents might not be eating a well balanced diet. Often the elderly who are able to live on their own, are not quite up to the task of daily shopping and meal preparation. That's where a personal chef service can be invaluable in enabling them to continue to be independent. Travelling Gourmet offers senior's in greater Vancouver an alternative to typical home meal replacement or meals on wheels. We can help seniors obtain nutritious meals that are customized just for their tastes with a far greater variety then what is typically offered.
An initial consultation is set up to find out the specific dietary requirements and preferences of the client. We can accommodate all manner of diets, from low-salt, fat and carbohydrate to gourmet and comfort foods, allergies. This can also be done online by going to our online CLIENT CONSULTATION FORM. Entrées are then selected by the client and personalized to their particular tastes and nutritional needs. This can be done through our online menu or from a regularly updated printed version that is mailed out or delivered to the customer if they don't have (or want) access to the internet.
Senior's appetites diminish somewhat with age and they often require smaller servings. The entrées and accompanying side dishes that we offer are usually enough for dinner that night, and lunch or dinner the next day. This also makes it more economical as the 20 entrée package can most often provide 30-40 meals depending on appetite.
