Frances Metcalf, Executive Chef and Owner of Travelling Gourmet Personal Chef Services was born and raised in BC and formally trained in French cuisine at the Dubrulle International Culinary and Hotel Institute of Canada, the countries leading culinary school. Additional training and teaching forays in S.E. Asia including Thailand, Indonesia and Japan gives her cooking style a unique global perspective. This winning combination has earned Travelling Gourmet mention in some of Canada's leading publications including The National Post, Food and Hospitality Magazine, The Vancouver Magazine and many other local and national publications.
This unique and varied background culminates in Chef Metcalf's ability to adapt seamlessly into a variety of environments. She is as comfortable in the kitchen of a single parent family, or the penthouse suite of a corporate president, providing a full service dinner party or discreetly presenting an intimate gourmet meal for two. Her warm and friendly manner combined with her efficient style make her a welcome addition in any home.
With Travelling Gourmet successfully running since August of 2002, Chef Metcalf has a client base that ranges from two income families to CEO's of corporations and famous personalities. While not running the creative and business aspects of the business, you can find Frances with her husband, travelling, sailing or hiking the trails on the North Shore.
